A remarkable crew, led by a gaffer who engineered a lighting rig to swing giant black flags at high speed, synchronized to the camera's rotation around the glass — keeping the key light exactly where it belonged, seamlessly. Clear glass against black is already a nightmare to keep clean; a black bottle against black demanded razor-precise lighting ratios. Black, white, and red are the only colors in the film.
